(Thu, 17 Dec 2020) Because the federal government will be closed December 24â25 and January 1, the next Natural Gas Weekly Update will be released on January 7.
(Thu, 17 Dec 2020) Because the federal government will be closed December 24â25 and January 1, the next Natural Gas Weekly Update will be released on January 7.
(Tue, 15 Dec 2020) Sensor and control innovations can lower the demand for end-use energy services such as space heating, space cooling, ventilation, and lighting in buildings. Trends in Commercial Whole-Building Sensors and Controls provides a technical overview of key sensor and control technologies and projects the share of commercial floorspace incorporating these technologies, along with estimated energy impacts, through 2050. The report also recommends an approach for modeling sensors and controls in the National Energy Modeling System.
(Tue, 08 Dec 2020) As of December 28, 2020, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) will no longer support HTTP requests for our products. The Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report (WNGSR) and the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) will change from HTTP to HTTPS web addresses to ensure the security and timeliness of these releases.
(Wed, 02 Dec 2020) Modeling Distributed Generation in the Buildings Sectors describes EIAâs approach to modeling distributed electricity generation for the Annual Energy Outlook (AEO) and discusses AEO2020 modeling results. The paper details EIAâs data sources and assumptions for historical capacity, costs, and government incentives and explains how EIA projects future capacity development and generation based on this information. It then provides a scenario analysis of results across different side cases (sets of assumptions) in AEO2020.
(Mon, 30 Nov 2020) Although one of the original five large oil-producing countries that created the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in 1960, Venezuela fell to the fourth-smallest producer among OPECâs 13 members in 2019, ranked higher than only Congo-Brazzaville, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea.
(Mon, 30 Nov 2020) Gabon is a mature oil producer in West Africa and among the top five oil producers in sub-Saharan Africa. Gabon enacted the 2019 Hydrocarbon Law to reinvigorate its oil market and support its 12th bidding round for the allocation of offshore blocks.
(Mon, 30 Nov 2020) Mexico is a major producer of petroleum and other liquids and is one of the largest providers of U.S. oil imports. Mexicoâs oil production has declined since 2004, as has the countryâs position as a net oil exporter.
(Wed, 18 Nov 2020) The first estimates from the 2018 Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) provide information about the U.S. commercial building stock, such as building size and activity, year of construction, and geographic region.
(Fri, 13 Nov 2020) Although Yemen is not a major hydrocarbon producer relative to several other countries in the Middle East, the country has sufficient oil and natural gas resources for both domestic demand and exports. However, Yemen's difficult security environment hinders the production and transport of those resources.
(Thu, 12 Nov 2020) The Philippines is a net energy importer, even though its consumption levels are low relative to its Southeast Asian neighbors and it produces fossil fuels domestically. Renewable energy sources account for a significant share of electricity generation.
